Each team takes on the identity of a new village hoping to make their fortune and trade their way to wealth at the markets. Provided with goods to trade (traditional Fijian items such as vesi (wood), buli (shells), iri (fans), masima (salt) etc), and limited information (about themselves, other villages, and the fluctuating values of their goods), teams must maximise their returns across the 4 years of trading available to them.

At the end of each year of trading, there are pay-outs for specific goods to those who are lucky enough to hold them in possession. The ultimate currency however will always be information – it’s how and when you use it that will determine your wealth at the end of the day.
